We still enjoy reading last year’s books from our Love Book list, but we are always on the lookout for more great books. This year Reece and Kat both picked their current favorites. Although they are both very different stories, I found it funny how they were both about giving Valentine’s.
A Valentine for Uni the Unicorn, by Amy Krouse Rosenthal, illustrated by Brigette Barrager
Is it any surprise that Kat’s current fav is a unicorn book and that it’s from the Uni the Unicorn series? Probably not. How we managed to even find this book out of so many new love books I’m not even sure. If your kid loves Uni books or is unicorn obsessed, then this is one to add to your collection.
The Day It Rained Hearts, by Felicia Bond
This sweet story about Cornelia Augusta catching raining hearts, then making special and unique Valentines to each friend. My favorite part of reading The Day It Rained Hearts with Reece was when he noticed how Cornelia Augusta found more hearts – even though it never rained again – because “the rain planted love and love grew from there.”
